Every once in a while a book comes along that feels like it was written just for you. One that speaks directly to where you are on your journey, puts words to things you've been feeling, and opens you up to new possibilities.
Anchoring the Light: The New Earth Way of Living, Creating, and Becoming All You Are by Ashmi Pathela is one of those books.
Kelly first discovered Ashmi through her Instagram posts, which seemed to speak directly to things she'd recently written in her own private journals. This led her to Ashmi's online ceremonies, online courses, and eventually to her book, which Kelly now considers one of the most impactful books on her spiritual path.
In this episode, you'll discover:
How Ashmi went from a high-pressure career in Silicon Valley to following her soul's calling.
How journalling can open a connection to your Higher Self and inner wisdom.
The beautiful way Anchoring the Light was written, and how Ashmi channelled its messages.
Why Ashmi believes humanity is awakening, even when world events seem to suggest otherwise.
How Kelly used Ashmi's birth name to uncover her Soul Plan, revealing the gifts, talents and soul destiny that align so beautifully with the work she's doing in the world.
Why slowing down, playing and allowing ourselves to simply BE can open us up to greater creativity, inspiration and abundance.
What it really means to anchor the light and embody the New Earth way of living.
Kelly also brings questions from her 26-year-old son who also loved the book!
A soul-expanding conversation about trusting your inner guidance, following your own path and remembering who you truly are.

Episode 83 of the Project Me podcast
Hi, I'm Kelly Pietrangeli, and today I have a different kind of episode than the usual. I am in conversation with the author of a book that came out about a year ago that I believe is destined to become a classic. The book is called Anchoring the Light, and the author is Ashimi Patela. And rather than a long intro, I'm just gonna let the conversation speak for itself.
So here we go, episode 83. Hi, Ashimi. Hi, Kelly. I know it's late afternoon for you there in Australia, and it's morning for me here in Ibiza. I'm so happy that we were able to make this conversation happen. Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited to dive in. Yeah. I very rarely have guests on the show.
It's usually solo episodes of me sharing stories about my, my path, my journey. It's always about a different person that's come onto my life path or a, an experience or a book that has fallen onto my life path exactly when I've needed it. And usually I just share that as a story, but every once in a while I feel called to bring on a guest.
And with you, I thought, "Why just share it?" It's a great story about your book. I'm, I do wanna share it, but I thought, "Why not share it with you?" I know that as an author myself, like, if I heard a personal story about my book and how, you know, somebody found it and about all that, I would just love to hear it.
So I'm gonna share it with you, and then we can have a, we can also have a conversation about, about the book and, and all else. So your book is called Anchoring the Light, and it's the, the new Earth way of living, creating, and becoming all that you are. And the f- the, um... It's been endorsed by Elle Macpherson, who wrote, "This book is a force of remembering, a transformative and gorgeous classic."
And I do have to say, although the book is only, what, like, just over a year old, it feels like a classic. It feels like one of these books that one day when people go back and they go, "What was, like, a book that had a really big impact on you?" They're gonna say, "Oh, Anchoring the Light." And it's only, like, a year old, and it already feels that way to me.
And, um- Wow. Thank you ... I have a PDF... Yeah. I have a PDF download on my website where people can download 17 books to light your path, and it's 17 books that when I think back through my spiritual journey or just my life journey, what are the books that have had the biggest impact on me? And I, uh, recently I looked at it again, and it had two books by Deepak Chopra on it.
And given that, like, recently he's kind of, um, his reputation's been a little bit tarnished, and, um, I just lo- no longer felt like I wanted him to be on that list, and so out went Deepak and on went your book. Thank you so much. I've had so many books really shift my path, especially when I was going through the early stages of awakening, and I always had this dream of writing such a book.
And this felt too big of a mission or too high of a standard to reach, but yeah, I did my best. Yeah, you did a really good job. Um, we're gonna get into how you wrote this book and everything, but in the beginning of the book, you talk about your, you know, your previous life in the Silicon Valley working for big corporates and all of that, and the kind of burnout that you faced.
I just wondered if you wanted to share a little bit about that, 'cause I'm super curious to know more about how that went when you decided to walk away from that and, and turn to the life you've got now. Yeah, I was working in the heart of Silicon Valley, which is a very big mentality, I'm generalizing, of, um, hustle and workaholics, and I was really drinking the Kool-Aid, throwing myself into work.
Um, my first job was an internship at Facebook, and this was in the early days, and then I worked for other startups, including one of the Zuckerbergs, Randy Zuckerberg, and it was such a glamorous opportunity in a sense. And, you know, me being fresh out of college, it felt so like a dream job, you know? And this is why I threw myself into it whole heart and soul.
But after many years, work was my whole life, you know, my weekends, holidays, and I was waking up with heart palpitations. Um, I totally burnt out. I was a zombie on the couch after this panic or anxiety attack, and I realized, "Is this career ladder leading me where I truly want to go? Like, what do I want to feel and experience in my life?"
And the more I looked at the people above me, like my bosses, the CEOs, I just didn't see myself there. I saw a lot of adrenal fatigue and, yeah, it just didn't, um, resonate anymore. And that was such a beautiful nudge from my soul, or, or a redirection, and I feel like many of us have had these. Uh, it was a wake-up call, and I decided to quit my job, my very promising career in Silicon Valley, sell everything in my apartment or donate everything, and I booked a one-way ticket to travel and follow my heart and start listening to the nudges of my heart and soul again.
And I would not have been able to guess where that would lead me, but it has been the wildest journey of my life. Amazing. And so that's how you ended up in Australia? Yeah, I met my husband in Bali and moved to Australia after a while of long distance. Um, now I'm in this country town in Denmark, Western Australia, living in the forest, 55 acres of forest by the ocean, and living a totally different life from the city life in San Francisco.
Yeah. I'm here in Ibiza, so I know exactly what you mean. I was always a city girl. Yeah. Always like, you know, after the city stuff, and now I'm completely opposite. Like, I'll go and get a city fix for a couple days, and I just need to come back to my island life. So yeah, I hear you on that. In your book, you talked about how, um, you journaled.
You took yourself away, and you were journaling and really reconnecting with yourself and, and, and reflecting on your life. And were you always a journaler? Actually, yes, from age eight. I had these journals, and it was one of my favorite... I was quite a nerd, or a, yeah, a book nerd and a journal nerd. But I used that journal as my therapy during some really hard years of my life into te- early teenagehood, and I felt like, and I knew, and I remember telling my parents and my grandparents at age eight or nine, I felt this higher voice or this voice of wisdom come through me towards the end of every journal entry.
I would start the entry, you know, raging angry at my sister, or just eight-year-old woes, um, worried about my life and the meaning of life, whatever an eight-year-old thinks about. But, um, towards the end of the page, there was always this higher perspective, and it felt like a balm to my heart, and I would y- write quite often whenever I felt like I needed to come back to my center.
And I was... No one taught me to do that. I was just doing that intuitively. And it's funny because that practice of connecting to, what I, I didn't know at the time, is my, my soul, my higher self, um, my consciousness, it has carried me through to where I am now, and it's something I do now through voice channeling, uh, speaking out loud, and it's also how I channeled my book.
Yeah. I really wanna speak to you in a bit about channeling through your book. Um, first of all, I can relate so much to the journaling and the he- I didn't, same as you, didn't think of it as being my higher self coming through. But same as you, I would just have a rage on the page or however I was feeling, and then by the end of it, some, like, wisdom would come through, some perspective, something different.
And it's only now, 'cause I started journaling when I was 10, it's only now that I can go back, and I've saved all my journals, and, um- Yeah ... just to go back and see that that inner wisdom was always there. Yeah. So beautiful. And it's that spark that you are. It's always there for everyone. It's just a matter of trusting it and bringing it forward.
Yeah. Exactly. You know, I first discovered you, I believe it was 2024 on Instagram, and you, oh, you've got these beautiful posts that are written posts, and you kind of scroll through the carousel and you read all the words. And I just felt like, oh my goodness, she's completely writing about the same things that I've just written about in my journal like last week or last month.
I would just read it. It was kind of like, oh, this is unbelievable. But it made me think, oh, like we're connecting to some higher wisdom that is a universal wisdom, you know? 'Cause it was like, well, my stuff's just stuck in my journal. How can she... This isn't something that I've written somewhere else, so this isn't like, oh, she's like stealing my copy you know?
And, um- Yeah ... it, and, but then when I would read the comments, I would go underneath the comment and say, "This is what I..." And I would read, and there'd be like dozens of other comments of people saying, "This is exactly what I was thinking. This is exactly how I've been feeling. You're speaking to, to me." And I thought, oh wow, this is really amazing.
Like, this really is higher wisdom coming through. And, um, and then, um, I joined, uh, I attended a couple of your online ceremonies, and then I joined your course, the one Creating a Life Doing What You Love. And then at the end of last year, I received an email from Hay House. I'm on their mailing list. It was Hay House UK.
And it said... It was just a standalone email about your book. And I remember, you know, reading on Instagram that you were writing a book, but somehow, you know, the, the algorithms in Instagram, like sometimes you see it all, and sometimes you don't. And so that email came that was like, "Ashlee's book is out."
And I was like, "Oh, my goodness. This is... Oh, wow." So I clicked through, and I got to the Hay House UK site, and there was a banner across the top, like one of those kind of just moving banners, and it talked about some special deal on oracle cards. And in that instant, I, I had just written in my journal that morning that I really wanted to find a gift for the women who were coming to my UK retreat.
I wanted to give them a gift, and I kept thinking, "What would be a good gift? What would be a good gift?" And I just hadn't come up with anything, so I just put it out there to the universe like, "Just show me. Just put the s- put the sign up," which is what I do all the time when I want an answer. Like, "Just show me."
And there it said oracle cards, like a special discount on these oracle cards. So kind of sidetracked your book for a moment and went over to the oracle cards section, where there were just pages and page... I mean, I had no idea how many oracle cards Hay House have put out, or tarot cards, oracle cards. And at first I was clicking through and reading the descriptions, and that was just taking so long, so I just did the kind of whiz through and to see if a cover attracts me.
And there was a cover of one called The Golden Future Oracle, and just something about it. I clicked through, and it was all about the new earth and how we're, we're living in this new earth, and it just so spoke to me that I just immediately ordered all these 120 or something decks of these oracle cards.
It was a one-day retreat. It wasn't a, a several-day retreat. One... And I just did it just impulsively without kind of reading through w- anything more about it. Anyway, then I went back, like, "Why was I here? Oh, yeah." Went back, ordered your book. And, um, when your book arrived, it was just so in alignment with all of it.
It was just like we are creating a new earth, and it, it was so beautiful. So I started to read your book, and I read a chapter every night before bed. And when I would read it, it was just like the nicest way to... It wasn't putting me to sleep, but it was the nicest way to read a chapter, put the bookmark in, and go to sleep, and have the most amazing dreams.
Like, it was really... I keep a dream journal. Oh. And while I was reading your book, I was just having the most beautiful, amazing, prolific dreams. So that was, like, really, really cool. And then- At Christmas time, my, our 26-year-old son, Max, was here visiting in Ibiza, and, um, he was reading Atomic Habits, which is, like, this book all about productivity and habits.
So he's 26. He's in that, you know, in that kind of a phase- Yeah ... with his work and everything like that, and his focus was really about managing his time better and productivity and all of that. But he was kinda... I remember he was kinda struggling with it, and he shared something with me. Um, and I don't remember specifically what he said, but it made me go, "Oh, wait a minute.
I'm reading this book right now, and she talks on productivity. That was j- just what I was reading last night." So I went and got the book, and I read to him, and I'm gonna read to you what I read to him and what happened when I read this to him. So I read the bit about, "Your consciousness is shifting.
Instead of needing to be productive to feel fulfilled, you are wondering if there's another way. Maybe it doesn't have to be hard. Maybe you can allow and receive all the magic that you are. This is the leap of faith within the leap of faith, letting go of the habit of forcing your way forward to open the path of ease.
The path of ease exists, and it begins to open up for you when you relax your nervous system, your restless doing, and trust the natural movement of your body. Whether it is called to rest, to nature, to music, to dreaming, trust the natural flow of your being, and then trust this moment in your life, however it looks and feels, because it is giving you the key to it all.
It'll show you the way if you'll only stop questioning it. Even when you think you are going backward, you are expanding. Even on your lowest days, you are rising. Every experience of leap is leading you exactly where you're meant to be." And asked me, he asked if he could take the book back to his bedroom.
And I said, "Sure," but I assumed that the book was gonna be, like, way over his head. I mean, like, I'm 30 years ahead of him on reading this kind of stuff and, and on this kind of journey. And although he's very spiritually open-minded, to my knowledge, he's never really read a book like this. And so I kinda thought, "Well, you know, it's as far removed from Atomic Habits as you could possibly get, but, you know, yeah, sure, go ahead and take it."
And guess what? He ordered his own copy to be delivered back to him. He lives in Brussels in Belgium, and he said, "I've ordered my own copy." And I was like, "Wow, okay," 'cause I really thought, "This book is speaking to me because it's exactly where I'm at on my journey." I was convinced of that. And I'm like, "He's 26 years old.
He's just starting, and the book s- is speaking to him?" And so that says so much about this book being a universal truth. It's like a remembering. Oh, that's beautiful to hear that I'm reaching, you know, a man in his 26th year. It just is different from my usual audience, but yeah, I love hearing these personal stories, so thank you for sharing.
Well, there is a part two to the story. Oh. And that is that he came back again to Ibiza, um, if over the summer in, in August, and I saw him from the window. I looked down, and he was by the pool reading your book. Like, just completely, and I was like, "Oh my gosh," you know? "Wow, he's still devouring this book." It really made my heart sing.
And then he brought it inside, and it was laying on the kitchen counter, and I noticed that it had all kinds of dog-eared pages. And my copy has so many dog-eared pages, plus underlines, and that's what I do to books. And I love a book. I always know a book when I love it, because just, it just, I just start dog-earing and underlining.
It's just what I do. And I love it, too, because that means I can pick up any book from my bookshelf, and when I don't wanna read the whole thing from cover to cover, I just pick up what I've underlined or dog-eared. And so I looked at his book. I went and got mine. I thought, "Wouldn't it be something if we had the same things underlined or the same pages dog-eared?"
But we didn't. He came into the kitchen- Oh ... I said, "Oh, do you... Let, let's look and see." And we had totally different things. Totally different things. Oh, wow. I was like, "Oh, wow." Oh, that's so special. Um, but yeah. So, um, two weekends ago, my husband and I went to visit Max in Brussels, and went to his bedroom, and he had the book there.
And I said, "Oh, gosh, I have something to tell you, Max. Um, in a couple weeks, Ashni is gonna be coming on my podcast. Is there..." And he was like, "Oh, wow, that's so cool." And I said, "Is there anything that you want to ask? Or, like, just let me know if you have any questions or anything." And so later that evening, he sent me a WhatsApp message with the questions he wanted me to ask you.
So you ready for Max's questions? Sure. Hi, Max. I'm sure you're listening. He'll definitely be listening to this episode. So he wrote three questions. Question number one, um, "How Anchoring the Light came together, did the words just flow and come to you as you were writing? Sometimes it reads like a flow, stream of consciousness directly from source.
Did it feel like that?" Oh, thank you for asking that. I wrote it in a different way from my previous book, and actually many or any of my other writings on Instagram at that time. If I remember correctly, I would write normally and channel through my typing, writing. But this book was so different, and I knew
The reason was because I knew when the vision of the book came through, it was going to be such a high frequency. Um, I could feel the energy of the book or the potential of the book, of what it wanted to be, this ripple effect in humanity or a catalyst or, um, pushing the edges of the consciousness that we have reached so far.
And I knew that it wanted to become a spiritual classic, but not regurgitating the information you already hear in other books. It wanted to add a new layer or a new expansion, a new evolution that fits the time that we're living in today of this amazing shift in consciousness on Earth. And to meet that, what the book was wanting to be, I had so much of my human fears come up, my imposter syndrome.
What if I fall short? How can I actually capture that? How can I really make it that revolutionary, you know? No pressure. But I knew the main, the only way to do it was to get out of my own way in my head, and this is something I write about in the book. Um, but to get out of my head and tap into source directly, to channel directly without any filtering, without any thought, without trying to write a book.
So instead of sitting down at my laptop and going, "Okay, chapter one, what am I gonna write?" I actually just would sit outside on the grass under a tree, and I had a phone app, um, called Recorder or something, and it would record my voice, and I just closed my eyes Decide to open my heart and connect with source.
And some people require a bit longer. You know, you might wanna meditate when you do this. But I've been practicing for a while, so I can just quite easily, with intention, drop into my heart and feel a shift, and my mind goes quiet, and then I just start talking. And it didn't have to be a message that ended up in the book, but my intention of the day every day was, um, just what is the highest message for my soul, for humanity?
What does source wanna say? And I just capture however long that message would be, sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes an hour. Sometimes it wouldn't go, it wouldn't work 'cause I'm in my head, so I just quit that day. And, um, I compiled this assortment of audio transcripts that, and thanks to technology, you can transcribe now quite easily.
And I had a notes app with all these various topics and translate- transcripts pasted. And after looking at that, um, I could tell which passages wanted to go in the book and which I just discarded. There's a whole process of using the mind to slot things in. But for the most part, I didn't bring my editing mind into it until the very last step.
I just wanted to channel and allow whatever I wanted to come through for humanity with that intention. Well, there you go. Max said it feels like a flow or a stream of consciousness directly from source. So there you go. It was. I love that. Um, his second question is, "Even with everything happening in the world, are you still convinced that this is simply an awakening of consciousness that is leading us all to a better place eventually?"
Ooh. Yeah, the world actually can look darker and more divided and more scary than ever before. More lack, you know, and more people feeling lost, disconnected, afraid. Um, yeah, you can point to a million things happening in the world and say, "Actually, don't you think we're going the wrong way?" But I truly be- believe, and it's not just me, but all the mystics and philosophers and even astrologers pointing to the same shift we're living in now.
And I mean, it's true the saying, "It's darkest before dawn," or we're almost at the, uh, what's it called? The pressure cooker point where some of these things you have to shake it- things up from a higher level, um, even though the human might not understand or rationalize this. The shadows in humanity, the darkness, the pain, the suffering, it's been there for centuries.
It's not new. You know, just like war has been here for so long, and brutality and violence. But now it's coming to the surface, cracking your heart open with compassion and pain, cracking our hearts open more than ever before. And this needs to happen so that more eyes can open, more hearts can feel. And collectively as a humanity, we're actually saying, "No, I don't want this anymore.
This is not okay," or, "Something's wrong here about how the systems, how the world's running. Something is wrong here about how, mm, the values we're told we're supposed to chase," you know? "Something's off and we need to make a change." And Yes, we need to take inspired action and make change from the ground level, but also the biggest shift that can occur is the shift in consciousness, our frequency, our knowing, our remembrance that we are actually so much more than what we have been told.
We are not small. We are not limited. And this is the craziest thing. Um, we grow up believing in our limitation, our separation, the fact that we can, you know, something can happen to us that will forever take our power away or our heart away when you're actually an infinite soul. And this is coming up to the surface so that more hearts can awaken and open their eyes to the truth of who you are.
And I think this is something that has, has always fascinated me because deep down, even at a young age, I knew there's something special about this lifetime on Earth. There's something different. We're here for a reason. Your soul is whispering that to you, and the reason you're resonating with the book is because it's speaking to a deeper part of you that knows you came here not for destruction and doomsday, but for something really beautiful.
And yeah, I really feel like we are awakening, and millions and millions are awakening, and we've already passed the tipping point where it's inevitable. And we will see the change rippling down into the grounds level where systems will change and leadership will change. And, um, we are entering that golden age.
But it's not gonna feel like it if you keep, um, focusing on or just only looking at what's wrong. Um, this is why we must come into our hearts and open our hearts and really trust, believe in, anchor, and be the new, the new Earth, a new way, because there's actually so much more of us doing this and wanting this than what it feels like Absolutely.
I know you can just turn on YouTube or the, the news or whatever, and it just feels like everyone's just talking about the same thing. Then you need to kinda change your algorithm and start listening to, to other voices. Yeah, exactly. Um, Max studied international relations and politics at university, and he's always been, like, a kind of global thinker.
Um, and then, you know, straight out of university, he got a job in, in Brussels. You know, that's the home of the European Union, and you know, all this kinda stuff. And it's interesting 'cause, you know, he's, um, he, he's now about... I don't know if it's from reading your book or what, but he's now taking a sabbatical from work, and he's gonna go traveling for a bit.
He's going to South America just after Christmas and everything, so watch this space. That's so amazing. Yeah, because they kind of... You wanna, you wanna change the world, and so you, you do what you, what you're kind of told is gonna change the world. Like, oh, you're gonna go and work in, you know, do kind of something in politics, something in policymaking, something whatever.
And it's like maybe that isn't the way to make the change. Maybe there's a different way. So yeah, watching this space, definitely, seeing what happens with Max. Mm-hmm. Beautiful. Yeah. Oh, I love that, and it will be life-changing for sure. Yeah. Let me see. I think you had one more question. Yeah, question three.
Um, can you explain the everything is you, is it, uh, everything is you, in quotation marks, belief, and how this translates to your relationships with friends, family, colleagues, strangers? Mm, I love that question. So in the book, I talk about how you are a consciousness. You are everything. You are every grain of sand.
You are the sky. You are the trees. You are God. You are everything. And it feels a bit- Mm, weird to claim that, and we're not claiming that from a egotistical place. We're actually claiming the interconnectedness of all that is, and you are that and so am I, and so is everyone else. And we're all sharing this one consciousness.
And the greatest illusion that we are born into or that we get passed down generation after generation is the illusion of separation, thinking you're just this human and everyone else outside of me, you know, that you're separate. And this is what keeps people feeling disconnected and not seeing the truth of their true nature, their consciousness, their infinite soul.
And it's very trippy because the human mind struggles to grasp what this actually means, that you literally are everything and everyone, and in another way you can say you're literally the only one in the room. And so why are you scared? Why are you worried of them ju- judging you? They are you, you are them.
Um, yeah. And that can make you feel all of a sudden existentially lonely too. Like, "Oh my gosh, am I the only one here? Am I just making this all up in my head?" But it's more so from this place of you are love, you are connected, and this heart that you have here connects you to everything and everyone. And, um, not just in this lifetime, all lifetimes.
Not just in this realm or Earth, in all dimensions. It goes bigger than what your mind can conceive of in, in this quantum universe. And the question of how does this affect my relationships and friendships? It's such a remembrance. Um, I have a beautiful husband who I really feel is my mirror and soulmate, and I started actually really believing this through the, um, experiences, the uncanny experiences we were having.
Especially someone really close to you, you might notice, um, not just things like telepathy, having the same thought or feeling at the same time, but we, we have very similar energy signatures or soul missions in this world. Um, I can articulate something I'm moving through, just like what you said, Kelly, about when I write an Instagram post about something really specific and subtle I'm moving through or realizing or reflecting on right now, and hundreds of people are like, "I'm going through the same exact thing."
Joel and I really like that. I realize something or I'm noticing something, and he has the same experience in a different way, and we reflect for each other. And also the same with my son, Elikai. It was so crazy, especially in the early, um, months after his bir- birth. Uh, even now, obviously, we're energetically linked, so, you know, if I'm in my head or stressed, he is my instant feedback loop.
He starts fussing, you know? But if I'm relaxed and super calm, he just mirrors that. It's like to a T. But right after he was born, I noticed I would need to burp, and it was actually, he would burp within a second after I felt the need to burp. So it was like, whoa, are you me? And, um, it can make you feel, yeah, like you're going crazy.
But at the same time, uh, realizing every soul is also a beautiful individual expression of consciousness. But when you zoom all the way out, even though we all have our individual flavors and missions and gifts, when you zoom all the way out, we are the same. We are one. And with family members, often your family members will be the ones to trigger you the most or bring out the worst in you maybe.
And, um, yeah, it's, it's really hard. But seeing them as a reflection or mirror for me to see myself more deeply really helps me move through the hard triggers and moments of, you know, uh, me versus them, you know? And, um, seeing every soul on your path, even an acquaintance or a stranger, as a gift or a message or, yeah, a breadcrumb on your path, it changes your experience of the way you walk through life and navigate life It really does.
Yeah, I've found that in my experience too. But as you said, it's not always easy, but the more we can return to that, you know? Absolutely. Yeah. You know, um, I just knew that Uh, from reading your posts and from knowing that you've got a membership and that you've got, um, you like to gather people in ceremonies and do circles, I was like, "She's got the 7/7 energies in her soul plan.
I just know she does." I'm a soul plan practitioner. And I remember I wrote to you, and I was like, "Do you mind giving me your full birth name as it appears on your birth certificate?" Yeah, yeah. And, uh, 'cause that, 'cause every letter of your birth name carries a vibrational frequency, and that's translated into your soul plan.
And you're like, "Yeah, it's just, it's Ashme Patella." I'm like, "Oh, no middle name? No, you didn't take on any... If you, if you took on Joel's name, you know, whatever. So you d- you, you got the same name as, as on your birth certificate." And so- No, I was just thinking, oh, does your soul plan change if you take your husband's name, or no?
What happens is, it's interesting because it's like your original, um, birth name is like, imagine that you bake a cake. That cake goes in the oven, and it's always gonna be whatever it is, chocolate or banana or whatever. That doesn't change. But your married name, if you, if you do change your name later on, it becomes like the sprinkles, the icing, the...
It adds extra energies. Yeah, uh-huh. Uh-huh. So, but your... But the core of it, you know, the core of your cake is your birth name. And, um, so you kindly told me that, and then I went into your, your soul plan, and sure enough, you've got the 7/7 energies as your worldly talent, and that is all about a unity and magnetism.
And it is about, it is about g- um, facilitating groups. It's bringing people together. It's, it's unity. It's the absolute opposite of division. It is about, like, you know, s- not being a black-and-white thinker, being able to see all sides of a situation, and, um, and i- it being a catalyst for positive change.
And if you think about it, we... How do we... How, how... What are the catalysts for change in the world? They're not the ones who are just sitting there on their own. They're the ones who are gathering other people together and, you know, groups and, you know, it... We become so much stronger together. And so yeah, you have that as your worldly talent.
And, um, I have the 7/7 as my soul destiny. And so I immediately just, I just knew, yeah, I just knew that you had that energy. And then, um, I won't go through your whole chart, but another thing that just popped up now that I'm thinking about is that you're talking so much, um, about unity and how we are all one, and as your spiritual goal, you have the 1/1 energy, which I've never seen in any chart.
I learned about the 1/1 energy when I was training, and I just keep waiting for somebody to have the 1/1 energy in their chart, and you have it in your chart. And, um, I I have to actually get my book out, because that's how much this energy... Like, I, I never see it. It's just called unity. It's just i- 1/1, if you think about it.
You know, it's 1/1. And, um, and it says, "To live a life aligned with the core energy of 1/1 may involve, in some way, acting as a beacon for others who are seeking to come back to a sense of unity in their lives. It is to embody a cohesion that becomes the guiding light to others." Mm. Yeah. Wow. So you're- I really- That was, that's your spiritual goal, and you're, I'd like to say you're doing it, you know?
I really resonate with that in this season of my life because I'm realizing how much I'm not here just to teach what I know in my head. I'm not here just to write from my past experiences. I'm here-- like, the highest frequency I can offer to humanity and the world is my embodiment of what I know, believe, and teach, but for me to fully live it and embody it and emit that transmission simply by being it and by being an example of what's possible maybe or, or, or a beacon, but also permission to others that they too can find it in themselves or that it is possible to live this and feel it.
And it's not about perfection. Um, in my maiden years before I became a mother, I felt like I was really nailing my path, and I was like, "All right. I'm good at, um, creating peace in my life and harmony, and I got this," and I really felt like I mastered my spiritual path, right? Such on a, um... What is it? Yeah, just was a bit naive.
And then motherhood hit me, and I got so humbled because I realized this spiritual path or this ascension path isn't about being perfectly harmonious or regulated or calm all the time or, or able to move through everything with grace all the time. It's actually the harder part is mastering being human and really loving yourself through the hardest emotions.
It's so easy to connect to spirit and be spiritual when you're feeling good in life and everything's going well, and I mastered-- that was so easy. But can I master loving myself when I haven't slept, and I'm going crazy, and I feel like I'm losing myself, and it's 3:00 in the morning, and I want to cry and, you know, um, can I really love myself through any guilt or self-judgment or not enoughness that comes up?
Um, that was the true spiritual path and initiation I've been walking through, and it really showed me, um, yeah, it's not about chasing this perfection or, um, making everything look beautiful. It's about not resisting or pushing away the ebbs and flows of what it means to be a human or the full spectrum of emotion.
Yeah. And I feel a lot of people judge themselves or get stuck on this who are-- if you're struggling through a hard season or going through a challenge, you might feel like, "I'm not doing well on, on my path now" or, "I'm going backwards," but you're actually being initiated into deeper layers of yourself because you're ready now for that.
And it means you are going further on your path, even if it feels like you're going backwards Yeah, love that. And your soul destiny and your soul plan is divine mother. Mm-hmm. Divine mother. So it really is like motherhood was meant to... Um, I looked up when somebody's got divine mother as their, um, their soul destiny like you do, and it says, "This energy is inviting the holder to join those who are bringing in and embodying a new loving and wise vibration into our world as the tide is turning away from the old patriarchal competitive models so a new era of cooperation can be ushered in.
More recent conventional ways of understanding the world have favored a survival of the fittest mentality, while holistic intelligence proposes cooperation as a better means to sustainable prosperity. The soft, nurturing, and flowing energies form the soothing overlay on the qualities of wise leadership.
This is a combination that allows those who embody these energies to be very successful in whatever direction they choose as their focus." So yeah, it is very much about, um, yeah, about that divine mother is, you know, like you said, it's like cracking you open and taking you deeper and then you're able to like really embody that like in its highest form.
So beautiful. I still struggle to, yeah, really feel worthy of this divine mother, um, because yeah, I feel like I'm still early and stumbling on my motherhood path. But yeah, I get what you mean. It's the whole feminine new way and mothering all of humanity, bringing this energy into all of humanity. Um, and permission to soften after years and years and decades of, um, yeah, hardening and forcing and f- being afraid and pushing.
I think we're all tired of that and we're all wanting to feel held by the ultimate divine mother which is nature and the universe and, yeah, our, our own infinite souls. Yeah. Beautiful. I just saw on your Instagram, I think it was yesterday, that you, um, you on the beach playing with your son and play is like your new theme.
So tell us more about play. Ah, well I, I realized I'm hitting this place where, and it's very normal to, um, to not fully be living what I teach because I'm in this, um, I've been sleep deprived, I've more, been more in my head, right? And I'm realizing, oh, I'm actually not as connected to the spark of life or my, my soul and I'm missing that and- Of course, it's hard in early postpartum and motherhood, but I need to, for myself and my chil- child and my family, um, prioritize my nourishment, my creative flow, my play, my joy.
Because, yeah, in doing that, I can become a better, yeah, happier, um, more connected mother and, yeah, wife and sister and daughter and all of that. But, um, it's not that I haven't been. I don't think anyone from the outside would notice the difference. It's more so the inner, a little bit more presence, a little bit more permission to lean back instead of lean forward, a little bit less in my head.
And yeah, there are outer expressions of that, like I'm starting to paint again, I'm dancing, I'm playing new refreshing music in the car, and it's showing me my spark's coming back. And I don't think I could have forced it either, um, any sooner, uh, because I was in such a brain fog, postpartum hormones up and down, you know, phase, and you can't fake it.
But yeah, you can do the things you know help nourish you, and I, I was doing those things. But now I feel this genuine desire for more play and joy and aliveness, and I'm listening to that. Beautiful. Is there some kind of an offering? Did I see that there's something you're inviting people- Yeah ... to do?
Yeah, so there's a ceremony in two days. I don't know when the podcast is going up, but, uh, there's also 30 days of play in November, and it is an immersion and a transmission, and I'm playing with this hypothesis or this truth, actually, in my soul that in slowing down, you actually speed up. And what do you speed up?
You speed up new timelines, inspiration, flow, creativity, being in the right place at the right time, people coming in, and even abundance. And a lot of people who are in their lack or fear or scarcity, it's the hardest thing to allow yourself to slow down or indulge your creative whims and play a little instead of diving into your to-do list.
But this theory is if you really let yourself be, that is when your soul can speak to you. That is when new ideas and fresh energy can come through. That is when things can actually come in with less effort and efforting. And I really want to dive in and live this and test this to the max. I've already, you know, kind of done it in other periods of my life, but in a new way.
I want to share it with others and support each other in really embodying it. I love that. We run our businesses very much the same way it feels like where I flow and I see what I wanna, what needs to be created next and what do I wanna do next. I don't have a business plan. You know, I remember when I was first starting all of this, my husband's like, "Where's the business plan?
You need to have a business plan." And I, I tried to do it. There was, like, this downloadable thing from the bank or whatever where you were supposed to fill in all this information. I'm like, "But I don't know." Like, I just couldn't answer these questions. And yeah, you can end up feeling like, oh gosh, you know, I don't have a business if, if I'm not kinda following this guidelines of how you need to create a business.
And I'm so happy that I just turned away from all of that, and I've just flowed with what I feel like doing. And I remember being at a point, maybe it was last year, where the inspiration... Like, I like to create online programs, and I have a membership, too. I like to create content for that, and I was just always kinda doing stuff.
But then things felt a bit stagnant. I just wasn't feeling, like, the energy on doing it. And even, like, putting out a newsletter, which I used to really enjoy, was like, "Oh, what do I wanna say, and what's the point of this?" And you know, everything. And then of course I open up Instagram, and you've got a post that is just speaking exactly to it.
You're like, "What happens when you used to be so lit up by ideas and then suddenly it's not there?" I'm like, "Yeah, yeah." Like, you know? And it's just every time you wrote something like that I was like, this is just permission, permission to just be and just to, just to, to not be creating. You don't have to always be creating something.
And it's like, I know, but then I'm not gonna be generating the income that I was last year because I'm not, I don't have any new programs out, whatever. And then I just, like, really allowed myself, through journaling, um, just allowed myself to say, "You know what? Like, it, it doesn't matter, and it'll all, you know, when the, when the, um..."
You know, live in alignment with the, with the law of abundance, which is, you know, even in leaner times, the abundance will come again, and, you know, just trust that you're in this kind of season of, you know, not wanting to create. Just go and, and go, go walk on the beach. Go take a hike. Go... Just do something else rather than sitting in front of your desk and doing all that kind of stuff that you can be doing that makes it seem like you're busy and that you've, you know, done a day's work even though you're not really.
Um, and so yeah, thanks for that permission when I saw that you were experiencing that as well. I was one of those, "Ah, yeah." And now I'm back in flow again, and it's not the same kind of flow as it was before. It's not the same kind of, um, energy. I don't even make a to-do list anymore. Like, I used to be, like, a stickler for, like, to-do lists and everything, and now I'm kinda like, I just literally am like, "What needs to happen today?"
And it just happens. And then the rest of the day I can go and take a walk or read a book or do something else, and everything's flowing. I really feel like we're shifting from being linear beings to quantum beings. Or we've always been quantum beings, but reclaiming more of that. And this means not needing to plan.
It's not really about the past, present, and future, but more so about right now. What's alive for me right now? What is my soul nudging me to do right now? And it might be nothing. It might be walk in nature. It might be create something. But your most potent offering and creation will always be what's alive for you right now.
And it's such a counterintuitive way to run a business, but in this age of people becoming more attuned to frequency and even able to feel more deeply into their hearts, people can read your energy, um, even if they're not aware. Subconsciously, they can feel when you are forcing something or pushing something or creating something that your heart's not in, or if you're dishonoring, yeah, a nudge from your body to slow down.
So I think we, we just really need to trust that your soul has your back and it's guiding you, and you are right on track and there's no way you can be behind. And to allow that flow of the universe to move through you and hold you and carry you, because it's gonna take you further than what your human mind can plan.
Absolutely. Love it. Beautiful. Um, well, I saw that your, your book is now also out in Spanish right now. It just came out in Spanish language. Yes. Is that the second language it's ever been published in? So I just found out that it's... Well, I always knew it was coming out, but I found out it's been published in Spanish and Hungarian.
Surprise. Wow. Wait, tell- why Hungarian? I- I don't know. Uh, we, I mean, Hay House goes to different publishers internationally and whoever wants to pick it up, and we got a Hungarian public- publisher and a Spanish publisher. So, um, w- it's just so surreal that now it's translated into multiple languages and in one where I can't even read.
Uh, so yeah, I'm really happy for it to be reaching more people around the world. Me too. That's exactly, exactly why I wanted you to come on the podcast because I've, you know, been talking about it in my Soul Explorers membership, and I've been kind of telling people about it. But I thought, "You know what?
Like, I've got a podcast. Why don't I talk about, uh, the book with you?" Because I really, really believe it is one of those spiritual classics and, like, wouldn't you rather be in on it at the beginning than hear about it, you know, in 10 years' time? Like, it's out now. Like, it can start making a difference on people's lives right now.
So, yeah. Thank you so much, Kelly. Yeah, thank you. I also have my fir- my first book, which was self-published. So for those who've loved Anchoring the Light, the first book is more so a coffee table book of words and artwork, my own paintings, and it's called Awakening the Heart of Humanity. Um, yeah, it's r- also very beautiful and poetic and channeled and hits your soul, uh, reminding you why you came to this earth and this life and the light that you are.
Oh, I love it. And tell people, too, what your Instagram handle is and your website. Um, you can read my writing on Instagram at ashmi.path, P-A-T-H, um, and my website ashmipatela.com. I'm sure you'll link it below, so- I absolutely will ... yeah, thank you. Yeah, and you've got your membership as well. Yeah, in, in, you know, aligned with the topic of sharing what's alive right now, this is the only way I can create or work.
And so my membership is called The Living Field, and it's where I share my spontaneous transmissions, channelings, voice notes, whatever themes I'm moving through right now, whether it's subtle or intimate or raw, and it's where people can most closely journey with me in the most potent c- container I have.
And what I like is it's not just-- there's no real structure or it's not really tied to one topic or theme. It's ever-expanding, so the more we go deeper into our journey, the more I go deeper into my journey, the more we all expand, the content and transmissions will hold that frequency And if anyone's interested in learning more about channeling, I really recommend your course.
Um, is it called... What, what's the course called? I can't remember. Channeling- Channeling the Unique Voice of Your Soul. A lot of people channel other entities or angels or beings or, um, yeah, other versions of themselves in other realms, but I always felt like the purest and most truthful way for me is to drop into my heart and channel myself, my higher self.
And it wasn't just about channeling, it's about learning to trust myself as my highest truth and my voice. And it did ripple out in my life in other ways of, you know, just giving me this confidence of knowing if I'm going through a hard time or if I need an answer to a question, I can go there within a few seconds and find that, and so can you and everyone.
Yeah, I loved that course. It was a real remembering for me, because it was like, "Oh, I would love to channel like, like Ashnee does." And then I kind of did the course and I was like, "Oh, when I write, I'm channeling." You know, you, you got a whole module on channeled writing, and I was like, "That's how I do it. I- that's just how I do it."
And so yeah, it was a really beautiful way of me to go, "Oh, yeah." Yeah. Really nice remembering. Oh, Ashnee, thank you so much. I loved our conversation, and I'm really excited to get your book out into, out into the world even bigger. Thank you so much, Kelly. You're amazing, and I just love your energy and what you share in the world as well, so thank you for being here and journeying alongside me.
